Black Tonic is a new venture founded and bootstrapped by WOLVERINE, a small firm with a long legacy of web savvy thinking and application development. We subscribe to innovation and getting our hands dirty with good old fashioned work - this goes for every member of our team from top to bottom.
Co-Founder, Technology and Design Strategy
A professionally trained fine artist (Nice, France), Philippe's focus in computer and digital Art influenced his interest in programming, eventually leading him to a career as a Java software developer. He worked for several small engineering firms in France prior to founding his first technology company, OYOAHA, in the late 90's.
As a Principal at WOLVERINE, Philippe leads all things technology, strategy, and innovation. Combining his Art and design training with technologist skills, Philippe continues to invent technology solutions that predict emerging trends and intentionally challenge the status quo of what the Internet is meant to do and be. Philippe has also continued his art career with shows in both Europe and the US.
Co-Founder, Business Integration and Branding
An academically trained mechanical and biomedical engineer with advanced studies in philosophy and theology, David’s interest lies in knowledge theory—particularly the study of sign and symbol as they relate to language and communication. While design satisfied the sign and communication aspect, software technology fulfilled the engineering itch.
Beginning in 2001, David managed the strategy and development of an e-commerce application and physical fulfillment process that generated gross annual revenue exceeding one million dollars within a year. Thus began his fascination with the potential of integrating Internet technology with business process through design. As the creative business mind behind WOLVERINE, David brings critical thinking and business entrepreneur skills to the consultancy.
We do our best to set up great processes to communicate and provide outstanding service to our customers. Manning the phone lines isn't one of them. But don't get us wrong, we're super friendly and actually quite pleasant to talk with. Please just go easy on your expectations about our availability.
